"Yes slavery IS crime against humanity, minister admits"
THE GOVERNMENT has ditched its' much-criticised position that slavery is not a crime against humanity because it was legal at the time. In a U-turn a Home Office minister admitted it WAS a crime.The government sparked uproar at a United Nations conference in 2002 when it declared that the Trans-Atlantic slave trade was legal.
But in a stunning U-turn the British government now accepts that it WAS a crime against humanity. About time too, campaigners fumed.
