"Developing nations rally against subsidies at WTO"
Delegates from developing countries are again raising the issue of farm subsidies at this week's World Trade Organisation (WTO) meeting in Geneva.Mandisi Mpahlwa, the South African trade and industry minister, says there is still a large gap between farmers in the developed and developing countries. The subsidies enjoyed by farmers in the developed countries gives them an added advantage in competing for world markets.
The minister says that he and other delegates from the developing countries are fighting the system at the WTO talks.

Why are African Nations still fighting this issue while these Western powers peddle the words Free Trade? It is obvious that Free Trade has nothing to do with Fair Trade, and is only about developing more markets for European/American products.
