"UN: Poverty has hit Sub-Saharan Africa worst"
Vienna - Sub-Saharan Africa is the only part of the world where extreme poverty has been spreading steadily for 20 years, according to a United Nations report released on Tuesday.The average per capita income in the 34 countries south of the Sahara needs to grow by four to five percent a year for governments to reduce the dire poverty of their people by half by 2015, said the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido).
