"A dark, ugly history we must all face"
Inescapable is the word "powerful." "These are rough," said one black man after he saw them. Brutally shocking as the photos are, they represent dark chapters of our shared history, a history we must all face up to.I don't know how many Mississippi white adults saw the exhibit during the five months it was on display before moving on to Detroit. But not enough, I'm sure. Probably not as many young African-Americans as should have, either.
