Your dilemma can be conquered only thru true recognition of FACTS ! You state you have lived as a priveleged "white" something that could never have happened without the MASSACRE of the indigenous tribes whence you claim a biological connection. Having a compassion for the crimes is not the same as living and bearing the stigma of these heinous crimes daily ! It would be practically impossible for you to connect to this reality for it has never been your REALITY ! All you can do is treat people with all respect due coupled with the greatest genuinity (not charity). This will start your journey for inner peace and thru VIGOROUS commitment the possibility exists to find your way...this is a path of no shortcuts !
