I am right now studying the African Origins of Major Western Religions. My question is how was christianity introduced to indigenious Africans? Now I overstanding if correct is through the Roman Empire invasion of Africa(Carthage, Cyrene, and North Africa). Also it speaks of St. Augustine who played an important role in the spread of Christianity. They also make mention of the Roman Empire wanting to exeute St. Augustine for his particular style of Christian teachings. How/Why did Saint Augustine come in contact with Christianity and what was his spirituality before this?
