If many who claim to be RASTA feel that they have a right to be part of such a movement even if their skin colour does not give them the experience to do so then how do these people hope to uplift the movement?
By giving into this PC idea of we are one and the same, rainbow theme, one love, you are only taking away what this movement should be fighting for. It is not about you, me and a black person holding hands singing songs of peace.
It is about you, me looking at Black people and seeing them as a Black person, with a Black culture, a Black nation and a Black history.
By taking away a Black persons colour you take away who he or she is and what he or she has to fight for. Ridding racism is not about seeing Blacks as oneself, it is about seeing a Black person for who they are and having the RASpect to let that person be who he/she is in relation to his/her culture and history.
In saying this He/She has the right to live with the choice of having a Black education, a Black lifestyle, a Black nation, a Black army, a Black GOD, etc without whites taking that away by claiming we are all the same.
It is easy to say yes I see Black people as another race but not so easy to put that into practice.
Not so easy to RASpect that Black people also have a different culture, a different history, different spiritual faiths.
It is easy to state the same old white rasta line that we all came out of Africa but we all also through adaptive radiation evolved differently as early man migrated across the globe. And to claim Africa as ones own so as to hang onto something(The rasta movement) which is not ones own(Africa) is not just selfish but so wrong.
Africa for Africans, Europe for Europians, Asia for Asians. It is something that has been taught within the movement for years and years but it is something that is always looked past when many think they can claim a piece of Africa because it is the flavour of the month.
Until people see and raspect Black people with no questions asked as a people with their own culture, ideas, faiths, etc we are only dividing and weakening any hope of a Black uplifting.
STOP the whitewashing. The RASTA movement is BLACK in its roots and should be BLACK in its growth. It is that simple .
