It is becoming more apparent every time I look at this board how really far from the truth the majority of White People are when it comes to Black Issues and the best way they should be involved. This recent post is the most perfect example of White Male Arrogance I have seen to date. First it is not any white person's right to define, question, or interfere in any way with the ongoing development by Black People regarding the Reparation issue. And until the Reparation issue has been fully defined by Black People, to do so has a definite negative impact. It can bias White People who are really trying to learn or get involved in the best way possible to negative preconceptions. It also can throw up walls for the White People who at present are unclear but could possibly see it in the way it should be, as a black issue presented By Black People. Most important though, it waters down the discussion by trivializing the impact that the outcome of this issue will have on both Black and White People.
The worst of it all though, is that some really think this issue just boils down to money. Even if this is the case and it is agreed by White People that the money is owed (which in my mind no doubt it is), to have the audacity to question what any Black Person does with said money is an unpardonable affront. After all, does anyone question what we whites do with OUR money? How this thread started did one thing for me though. It opened MY eyes to the fact that some have a low-minded racist view of Black People.
