Haile Selassie was an honorary member of many orders of knighthood from many countries around the world, including Europe. It should be no suprise as to why Britain came to the aid of Selassie. The Knights Templars and the Portuguese Knights of Christ have a history in Abyssinia long ago, some even say that they had a hand in building the churches in Lalibela.
