skin color matters to overstand ones priveleges in a racist society and to make correct judgements and actions based on this knowledge to rectify the present into accord with the facts.
other than that IMHO, if one knows where one is from and where one is going, skin color does not matter. water breaks light into the spectrum of visible colors, yet all are from ONE source. OUT OF THE BLACKNESS WAS BORN THE LIGHT.
