science tends to agree that the "pygmy" people in the equatorial regions at the source of the nile in Africa were the first people on earth. they tend to be around 4 feet tall . .. there are also similarities between the cultural legends and stories of these people and those of those all over the world, including those in the far north such as the scandinavians.

it would not surprise me if these stories of giants in the mythologies of certain peoples and stems from these first peoples' experience with taller human beings and visa-versa.
