I think there are important things that one can discern and learn from this thread including the criticisms. But I do see knee-jerk reactions again and little focus on the substantive comments.
In my view his comment was based on poor understanding and seemed to try to discredit the legitimacy of the concerns of others that are being raised.
The popular cliché on this board used to be “he who feels it knows it” and it seems that some people feel this should not be applied across the board. Some who claim not to have experienced racism and colorism feel they can easily thrash others who do. This is much the same as some others who are not in the Oromo’s situation and feel it should not be discussed.
This is my view and others are free to theirs.
