Haile Selassie and the context

Peace.

I know this is a question which cannot be sufficiently answered as things have turned out the way they are now, and to go back into the past and ask "what would of happened if" is mroe specualtion than anything else.

But, I have to ask, and I want ones to think about it. What would the situation be for Ethiopia and greater Africa if Selassie I did not take the actions he made -- I am wondering if perhaps the fact that he was on good terms with Great Britain and other European powers and was not "revolutionary enough" was perhaps a better policy for Ethiopia's survival? You know what I am saying? IF he had been more of a radical, etc., could this of been a death sentence for Ethiopia and any vestige of sovereignty that Ethiopia managed to keep in the midst of the colonialist scramble for Africa?

What I am saying is, if he was TOO much of a FLEA under the collar of the Colonial European powers, would they have done him in and and quickly overtaken Ethiopia?
