End Global Apartheid National Teach-In: Uniting to Fight AIDS
Sponsored by: Georgia Africa Action Coalition
Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 4pm - 6pm
Clark-Atlanta University
Henderson Student Center - Multi-purpose Room
Located at the Intersection of James P Brawley and Fair Street Atlanta, GA
FEATURING:
Bishop Mvume Dandala is the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the All-
African Council of Churches.

communications, gender and human rights. She is currently the Executive Director
of the African Women's Development and Communication Network (FEMNET), a
pan-African network seeking to advance African women's development, equality and

Students Union (AASU). AASU's current areas of interest include: access to
education, democracy, HIV/AIDS, ICT in Higher Education in Africa, gender
issues, and academic freedom.
AIDS does not discriminate by race, and is not restricted by borders, but the
fact is that it is mainly killing Black people, especially Africans. Sub-Saharan
Africa is home to just over 10% of the world's population, but more than 75% of
the world's HIV/AIDS cases. In the United States, HIV/AIDS is the leading cause
of death among African-Americans between 25 and 44 years old.
As the pattern of the global AIDS crisis continues to reflect the inequalities
that exist in the world today along the 'color line', it is vitally important
that concerned individuals in the U.S. join in solidarity with Africans to
confront this common challenge.
The End Global Apartheid Speaking Tour will bring together leading civil society
activists from Africa to discuss the factors that gave rise to the AIDS pandemic
and new organizing strategies to force policy changes that will stop its deadly
spread.
