They have used so called gangsta rap to destroy Hip Hop, to make Black people look extremely bad and most of to destroy the minds of Black youths. Before Hip Hop was conscious music: the message of Black consciousness had always become mainstream with acts like BDP, Public Enemy, Poor Righteous Teachers, The X-Clan, Paris, and several others, these acts were opening the eyes of many Black people at the end of the eighties and the early ninetees, so they tried to destriy Hip Hop. It didn't work, so they changed strategy; if you can beat them join them!

What they did is they started to promote one type of rap aggesively, so called gangsta rap, they didn't destroy Hip Hop but they (almost) succeeded in destroying conscious Hip Hop. They almost succeeded, because despite their monstruous compaign acts like Ded Prez and Paris are still around, thanks for informing us about the new Paris album Bantu Kelani!
