Queen Bakarah, we have discussed the concept 'negro' several times on this board, but we will do it again. It is not just merely about the word 'negro' but more so about the racist concept 'negro', the concept of uprootage.
In the middle ages African people were called Moors by the Europeans, and history teaches us that these Africans dominated large part of southern Europe at the time, but most of all, reintroduced Europe to civilization: established outstanding universities, introduced mathemathics, chemistry, botany, science, astronomy, navigation, you name it!
But at a certain moment theses Moors were driven back, and finally the highly advanced Moorish civilization was destroyed by the Europeans, and these Moors received new names like moriscos (little Moors), mudejars (tamed ones), and negros.
These Moors were thoroughly oppressed: were not allowed to speak their own language, had to abondon their names and had to adopt Spanish names, all their books were burnt, etcetera.
At the same time the Moorish empire was on its way out in Europe, the Portuguese first started to trade in slaves coming from West-Africa, and from the document "The Discovery and Conquest of Guinea" we know the word 'negros' was in use as early as 1453 by the Portuguese: kidnapped Africans had been turned into 'negroes'; had been robbed of their lanquage, robbed of their land, robbed of their culture, robbed of their heritage, had been robbed of any sense of identity, any form of selfpride, so they had no option but to adopt the identity (language, heritage, clothes, etc.) of the slavemaster, so he started to look at the world through the slavemaster's eyes, and was his own enslavement justified even in his 'own' eyes. That is what the concept 'negro' represents; uprootage, robbing an African from his identity.
An Englishman comes from England, speaks the English language, is aware of the English heritage, etc., but where is negroland? Where is the negro language? Where is the negro heritage? THE NEGRO IDENTITY DOES NOT EXIST, SO BY CALLING YOURSELF A NEGRO YOU ARE DENYING YOUR OWN EXISTENCE!!!
Negro is the most racist word there has ever been, and we can trace the etymology of the Portuguese word 'negro' back to the Greek word necro which means corps, death. And that's what negroes are, no matter at what way you look at them: economically, spiritually, socially, intellectually so called negroes are dead!! And many of them are even dying physically at unuasual large numbers every single day.
You could use words like central African features, or Congoid features, classical African features, etc. but please abandon the word negro or negroid (negro-like) from your dictionary, because it us unnecessary to talk about the enslavement of 'negroid' minds: the condition 'negro' itself expresses the enslavement, better worse the destruction, of the African identity, the African mind.
One Love!
It's gona take bravery to stop (mental) slavery!
