Leading is a complex phenomena which demands questioning, organizing, inspiring, comforting, carrying, speculating, evaluating, refining and communicating. This list reflects simple, direct fundamentals based on the principle that "leadership" is not synonymous with "power." Leaders need to carry visionary torches, and we want them to pay attention to basic human relations. Treating people well, persevering and doing whatever needs to be done in order to accomplish a task, making only those promises that can be kept—these are the kinds of working guidelines that need to be taught.
