One love is a rastafarian concept, indeed it has been present in African civilizations for thusands of years. For me, i haven't witnessed anyone here on this forum dissing the one love concept but rather exposing the falseness of those that try to squeeze in under the illusion of 'one love'. There are many white people who want to one love their way into Rastafari without doing the necessary character refinement and without wiping the dirt of their boots. So they enter Rastafari and feel as if they are entitled to the same White Skin/Light skin priveleges that they get in society. A lot of people are so immersed in their own priveleges that they can't understand that Black people have a legitimate right to be angry about the level of oppression that they are subjected to.
So for those who feel that the harsh reality of existence for Blacks could just be ignored and we could be brothers on the boat of one love illusion, think again. It takes a lot of hard work, integrity and self examanination to realize the extent of one's own priveleges and how best to contribute against to overthrowing the global monster of White Supremacy (RAce/gender priveleges). It is most clear that a lot of people lack the integrity to address these problems honestly. Compounded with this is the arrogance of Americans which seeps into American 'rastas'. As it is now, the digital divide is massivve and a lot of rastas (especially in the so called third world)who are actualy experiencing a lot, don't have access to these forums. But this is changing. Rastafari is a Black movement dedicated towards righting the wrongs of White Supremacy. So there should be no watering down of anything under the guise of 'one love'. There are some that say that race doesn't matter, and that we should all be colorblind (ignore race). This often is for their own personal benefit as they try to shrug off their own role and responsibility in the injustices and oppression that have been perpetuated. I'm sure many are familar with the many excuses that are concocted, to sidestep among other things, the issue of Reparations.
