Sellasielive, you are entitled to your opinions but i ask you this. What is your definitions of Rasta? Is it somebody that sports external dreadlocks? From my overstanding, Rastafari is an ancient Afrikan way of life that has been practised in Africa for thousands of years before the physical manifestation of Selassie. The life of Selassie represents certain principles and truths that i seek to live. Still i don't worship flesh and blood, but the underlying vibration inherent in all creation.
Quote from selassieilive:This is definitely not Ras Tafari speaks anytime the management says that InI Emperor Haile Selassie didn't overstand Racism and White Supremacy.
Maybe you should quote the whole paragraph rather than half way misquoting and distorting what was actually said. The paragraph posted by Ayinde read:
"Haile Selassie I was never my leader. I developed along the more ancient principles of Rasta, which recognizes no supreme leader other than ONESELF.
I recognized the 'legitimate' leadership of Haile Selassie I in Eithopia, and the manner in which many placed him as the head of the 'resurrected' Rasta Movement (following the 1930s.) There is merit in much of what he said, but I do not accept that he understood the depths of White Supremacy, Racism, and Gender Discrimination. He was never elected to lead a movement to stamp out these plagues. He was fabulously wealthy and privileged himself. I identify with much of Garvey's position on Haile Selassie I. The two have merit, but neither was MY Leader. I respected both of them."
