Definition of White Supremacy: White Supremacy is the systematic organization of a society based primarily on 'white' over 'brown' over 'black'. In other words generally over the range of the color spectrum, being light skinned is much more acceptable and promoted as a standard than dark skin. Is this the reality that some term divisive?
Dark skinned people therefore have it the worse in this White Supremacist world. But understand the point clearly, it's not a matter of shunning light skinned Blacks, but rather highlighting the depth of racism experienced by dark skinned Blacks. And by doing this more people can properly understand their own role in perpetuating the Global Order of injustice. But to stop the problem it is necessary to acknowledge and understand it.Thus individuals can refine their role based UPON THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES.
THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR EXPERIENCE. THE EXPERIENCE IS THE EVIDENCE.
Many claim that there is one human race and as such, talk about Black and White issues are divisive, as if the human race was truly united before the issue was raised. In this same vein of White Supremacy, the same claim of divisiveness is raised when the topic of colorism is being discussed. Until Black individuals/Movements take a good/deep/ruthless loook within and examine how White Supremacy/light skin privelege is perpetuated from within, cries of unity and justice will be nothing but echoes of superficiality that bounce off the self erected prison of ignorance.
