Hehe....jeffffffffffffree...that better? (smiles)
I cannot really detail the whole movie as it covers a lot of area. You definitely should rent it as it just came out on video. Basically Michael Moore finds, throughout the movie, is that America is a society of fear...fear of black people, fear of terrorism, fear fear and more fear. The media perpetuates this fear through the nightly news casts of murder, rape, disease, etc. Basically we are a culture of fear, and this contributes to the US being the highest murder rate in the world. Other countries have just as much guns, just as much of a violent history (Germany, Japan, etc) but Americans live in a state of perpetual fear and knee-jerk reactions to this fear. When I watched this movie I thought instantly of our (US) reaction to 9-11 and our bombing of Afghanistan...knee-jerk reaction coupled with fear. Moore goes into more detail (racism, etc) but I think that's his main point of the movie.
