the white rastafarian. I am not a racist, i have friends from all walks of life. There is one thing that is particulariy disturbing to I. I live in california where there are a lot of white rastafarians that live in the hills, city on mommy and daddy's dollar. These trustafarians as they are referred live mostly in humbolt and grass valley areas. They live the life, most have farms and grow dem crops and live ital, but done on donations from wealthy parents.
I am not envious would never trade my common roots for anything because that is what has made me strong and wise. Although, I have met many of these people and they are afraid of the ghettos but yet listen to the message intended for ghetto youths as if it were speaking to them.
How can they possibly relate? when them go into the city's clutching dem purses, and ACT LIKE THEM POOR! give me a break! they scoff at the materialism of the ghettos, but if ya don't come from money you want all the flashy things. Almost every white rastafarian i have met from grass valley, humbolt, is from rich parents and i'm not talking upper middle class, i'm talking offspring from corporate CEO's, surgens, lawyers.
A lot of these people form reggae groups and sing about being rasta, but they have never ever been or experienced oppression. There is one guy who's dad is a ceo, lives in million dollar homes and prime real estate. Who claims he is poor and his wife is the daughter of a surgen! come on, do you really believe that people want to hear that message coming from dem who hide in the hills with dem riches!
fire bun and go live in a ghetto and experience what it is really like.
