This topic is very important and valid. The seriousness of the music that is all over the airwaves is beyond the eye. Like Jah Terms mentions, it's energy... it's alive and it is directly feeding the youths daily. They are repeating the words to these songs "You can find me in the club, bottle fulla bub...i'm into having sex, I ain't into making love..." It's a serious serious thing that all who are in the interest of paving the way for our youths futures, must take heed to. The only solution I can sight is the conscious hip hop getting aired, more conscious hip hop being created. And ones like Sean Paul need to realize the power of his place in the hype right now, and take advantage of that to do works. Most of these youths don't know what a Pimp literally is, nor know the meaning of the lyrics to most the songs... but they are curious, and it is what strikes their interest, and that's the problem. The creator is what needs to strike their interest, Africa, the situation in the world right now... the clever one is the one who is blessed with lyrical talents and puts His Majesty's words to the catchy beats that hit the radio waves. Put away the ego and teach the youths.
