Ok, i would like to let you know my opinion on certain aspects of Rastafari, maybe you can clarify some things i dont really get.
I see H.I.M as a very very important political figure for black people, being a Black Emperor crowned in the 20th century, what i really disagree on is him being really god made flesh(perhaps its my error and you dont perceive that way), i mean, Selassie himself said it.. "I am just a man, and man should not worship man", altough some people probably see that as even more reason to call him God, anyway... I would like you to know what is my view on Rastafari, Rastafari for me is the belief that the holy scriptures are all one and the same, the holy word is one and the same, god is one and the same, i dont really know if the purpose of religion was really pure on its beginnings, what i know is that religion for the last two thousand years has been nothing but a way for some people to gain power, to separate the human community and slowly drive it to live with prejudice towards everything, I say it again, We were all created by the same God(?), and we all come from the same place, so no matter how much time has gone by, no matter the opression that some have pressed upon others, we all should get over it(blacks, whites and everyone in between)BUT we should not FORGET all the harms done to humanity by humanity itself, we should build new foundations on the top of the old foundations, and remembering always the kind of grief we exacted upon our fellow brothers, because i personally think we are all brothers...
Ok, enough ramblings, i leave you once again with a quote...
" jump over your problems, even if they are as tall as mountains and beyond them is nothing but dry and naked fields ...dont rest till you get there." mahatma gandhi
