Re: Ras Tyehimba.. Perhaps you can answer this

In my honest opinion dark skinned black people experience racism on a worst level than light skinned black people. In Latin American, East Indian, and Asian cultures there is this generally prejudice towards darker skinned people. This caste system mentality is very prominent in India, Arab countries and Latin American and Hispanic cultures. Many Asians also have this mentality to a certain extent. The Asians that are known to really look down and dislike black people are East Indians and Filipinos. The reason I say that dark skinned people experience racism more than lighter skinned black people is because often times a lighter skinned black person can pass for a hispanic, Indian, a middle eastern person, or someone of who is racially mixed. My girlfriend is a black woman who happens to be light skinned and many times she has gotten into arguments with people who want to insist that she is not black just because of her complexion and texture of her hair. The groups of people that she often gets into arguments with are Hispanics, East Indians and people of the Middle East. These people have a tendacy of thinking she is one of them pretending to be black. I have realized that in this society, all races generally look down on dark skinned black people and there is nothing that can be done about this sickness.
