Today it is her, tomorrow it may be others. The Africa Union is committed to a course of secular government, and equality of religions under the law. No exceptions can be made without calamitous consequences in many parts of Africa. The concessions made by secular Nigeria with regard to Sharia in the north, are fatally wrong. I see it fit to oppose islamic fundamentalism in government of Africa, while protecting the personal freedoms of religious practice. The Amina Lawal case is a good focal point for this purpose for it exposes the flaws in the newly installed system.
Just for information, the petition is directly emailed to the Nigerian embassy mailbox, without any processing by African Star Line.
