Re: No Colorless Rasta Movement

Greetings,

If I was being deceitful about my being of Afrikan Descent, I woulda never posted my picture up. It has recently been suggested to me, by those who know I, to perhaps remove the picture, as this would give "amunition" to the ignorant. My response is that I AM THAT I AM. I have no shame in being a light skinned Afrikan. None. We can each learn something out of this. I will not be ashamed, nor will I hide.

To those who feel they can make assumptions of my ancestry, I would beg you to speak with my father, who has an uncanny resemblance to His Majesty, and would simply be tickled, if not disgusted by such foolish and ignorant ASSumptions.

I would also beg you to ask some of the strong Afrikan Voices on this board (such as Fiyahman, Empress Iyabingi, Mama Farika, Ancient Youth) who have met I face to face, broken bread with I at my home, if I am a white woman. Speak to some of our Elder/Teachers who have met me, like Dr. Ben, Ranuko Rashidi, Dr Barashango, Karenga and so many others (who have no great love for white folx), and PLEASE ask them if they spent their time with a white woman. LOL!

My point is not nor ever has been that color doesnt matter. Anyone who is familiar with my views and writings would KNOW that I am the first to chant down any form of COLOR BLINDNESS or multicultural fantasies. I also have, and will continue to be very outspoken on the fact that MANY light skinned Afrikans have been BAMBOOZLED by a white supremist system/order to feel themselves better then their darker skinned brothaz/sistaz. One can simply look into history to know this. But can we make broad generalizations about every lighter skinned Afrikan? Of course not. Does this mean we, as a collective, should BLAME or POINT FINGERS at our lighter skinned family? Or would it be WISER to REAL-EYEZ the SYSTEM OF DIVIDE AND RULE that is designed to keep the Afrikan Family in CHAOS, and instead permanently dismantle THAT?

My point continues to be that for us to bicker about degrees of melanin as the measuring stick for INTEGRITY, LOYALTY is simply a direct result of Willy Lynchism and regurgitation of an Apartheid System and mentality. I will also be the first to say that yes, lighter skinned Afrikans are generally put into positions of leadership, and given ILLUSIONARY benefits, and that within a Black Movement, it would be natural to not fall into this trap. But does this mean that we disregard some of our lighter skinned warriors? What a travesty this would be! Even Malcolm spoke about how some of the most fierce warriors hes met have been light skinned Afrikans, even some who could pass for white, and have used this to expose lynching still going on in the south, or many other factors in which a more recognizable Afrikan would never have been allowed to enter, therefore EXPOSE. I will repeat this again and again: We simply cannot judge loyalty to the Afrikan Collective based on degrees of melanin. Ultimately, it boils down to one either having a EUROCENTRIC worldview or a PAN AFRIKAN worldview, not to mention the WORKS, which one contributes towards the Afrikan Struggle.

Other then that, we are simply reacting to white supremacy. This time however, we have taken the dirty work from Willy Lynch, as he and the good old boys sis back comfortably, with a smirk on their face, for they knows his system has been successful beyond their wildest (and wickedest) dreams.

It is being suggested that only those who feel it know it. TRUE! Trust me, when they call my father a nigga (or sand nigga being from North Afrika), as his daughter, you dont think I FEEL THAT! Or when my children get called niggaz, or attack my son by ripping out one of his bongo locks, dont EVER suggest that I dont FEEEEEEEL that. When InI hear the wails and cries of Mama Afrika to ALL HER SCATTERED CHILDREN, InI FEEEEEEEL THAT.

Heres the irony in it all. If a light skinned Afrikan chooses (as a reaction to white supremacy) to pass for white, the Black Collective gets up in arms (as we should). But dont let that same person be a FIERCE WARRIOR, coz now, all of a sudden, theyre not so-called Real Black.

Absolute foolishness and contributor to our collective destruction.
