Rastafari Speaks

The Church of Haile Selassie I

Ba Beta Kristiyan Haile Selassie I

The Church of Haile Selassie I, Inc.

As we Ethiopians' descendants continue to struggle to Emancipation
in the 21st century and beyond, it is a blessing to be a part of such a
noble endeavor! The Rastafarian World-Wide Community is in
desperate need of a place to call their own. For too Long Rastas
have been trodden through Babylon. It is full time Rasta build a
foundation upon which to place all sacrifice and efforts of those who
began the journey before us. The above message is simple, yet
profound. The Church Of Haile Selassie I was formed in the year
1987 by Brother Ammanuel Foxe, A Rastafarian activist and
international President of the Imperial Ethiopian World Federation
Inc., along with other brethren and sistrens. The theological base of
the Church of Haile Selassie I is founded upon the Temple worship
through Liturgical Chants and rituals dated back to the days of
Moses in the wilderness. This is known as Rastalogy, “Black
Theology”, based upon the Divinity of Emperor Haile Selassie I of
Ethiopia, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of Yahweh
Elohim Sabboath, 225th rebirth of King Solomon of Jerusalem.
The early emergence of Rastafarianism was unable to establish a
documented way of worship, because the lack of academic
education and material resources, did not give the grassroots
people the opportunity. The opening of England for cheap labor
gave members of the Rasta Community the opportunity to migrate,
where these brethren exploited the educational facilities in Europe
for the interest of the sociopolitical and religious development of the
Rasta Community in Jamaica, so that today, sixty years after the
emergence of Rasta in Jamaica, the community has finally
established a documented way of worship.
This establishment came at a time when young Rastafarians and
their families needed a documented way of worship which would
legitimize their faith and religious practices, giving their offspring and
aged, security and a religious status, both in the workplace , in the
community and at school. The continuity of the religious faith of the
Rastafarians could not survive the 21st Century without a centralized
way of worship, the Crowning Glory of the Faith of Rasta.
Haile Selassie I worshipped as God amongst man on Earth, incense
burned in his name; and people blessed and baptized in the Name
of Haile Selassie I, could only be fulfilled with the coming of the
Church of Haile Selassie I Temple Worship. The establishment of the
Church of Haile Selassie I and temple worship will ensure that in the
year 2001 and beyond, the Name Haile Selassie I will be praised and
proclaimed in a manner compatible to that of Jesus The Christ, Lord
Buddha, Lord Rama and Lord Krishna.
We connect people from all walks of life to a tradition and a lineage
that has served humanity for more than 5,000 years. The church of
Haile Selassie I is committed to providing sincere believers with
inclusive, practical and spiritual teachings that will ensure growth
and development in order to address whatever situations they will
encounter.

The commitment of the Church of Haile Selassie I, to you is:
> To enrich spiritual growth;
> To provide sacred and inspiring worship;
> To support you when you need counseling or assistance;
> To provide a spiritual foundation/education;
> To provide you with opportunities to serve;
> To provide fellowship and social activities.

We are grateful for the support and contributions, large or small,
from each of you. Your dollars will help us to build Rastafarian
Churches, Temples and Institutions, wherein the Name of our god
and King, Emperor Haile Selassie I will be praised and all believer’s
cares and concerns for a better life will be addressed. (II Samuel 7:1
1-14: “I will build a house for you, I will raise up thy seed after you
and establish the Throne of His Kingdom forever, I will be His Father,
and he shall be my son.”)

Blessed be the Name of Emperor Haile Selassie I, forever and ever, Amen

Jah Bless
